Special FX “Breathing Tribble” from Star Trek: The Original Series, Episode: “The Trouble with Tribbles”

Special FX "Breathing Tribble" from Star Trek: The Original Series, Episode: "The Trouble with Tribbles" (DesiLu, 1966-1969). Vintage original Tribble constructed of ivory synthetic fur over an internal air bladder connected to a length of rubber hose. When air was pumped in and out of the bladder, it would give the appearance of the creature swelling and contracting, as if alive and breathing. While there were many static Tribbles used in the beloved episode of the legendary Sci-Fi series, specialty FX models such as this, were rare and used for specific scenes. Tribble measures approx. 7" x 6" x 3" with 36" of plastic hose attached. Exhibiting production wear, age, some thinning to fur, residue, expected yellowing to the plastic hose, and stiffening to the internal air bladder. In vintage Very Good condition. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
